Latest Manitoba Expression of Interest draw issues 392 invitations to apply

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program issued a total of 392 invitations to apply for a provincial nomination to skilled workers in the province and overseas in an invitation round that took place September 28, 2018.

Of the 392 invitations, 191 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) for a provincial nomination went to candidates in the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP)'s Skilled Worker Overseas Stream.

Candidates who received an LAA in this invitation round had a minimum score of at least 679 on the MPNP's assessment grid, which assigns candidates a score out of 1,000 based on answers provided in their Expression of Interest (EOI) profile.

Completing an EOI profile is the required first step for anyone who wants to be considered for immigration through the MPNP's Skilled Worker Overseas Stream. Eligible candidates are then entered into the EOI pool, where they are ranked against the competition.

A total of 201 LAAs also were issued to Manitoba EOI pool candidates through the Skilled Workers in Manitoba Stream who have a close relative in the province, past Manitoba education or work experience, a minimum six months of recent experience in a Manitoba In-demand Occupation, or the minimum language proficiency required based on occupation. The lowest-ranked candidate with these specifications had a score of 592.

of the 191 invitations issued in the Skilled Worker Overseas Stream, 31 invitations were issued to candidates through the MPNP's Strategic Recruitment Initiatives. The lowest-ranked candidate issued an LAA through this process had a score of 713.

The Strategic Recruitment Initiative includes overseas recruitment missions where potential MPNP candidates are interviewed by provincial representatives and those found who meet the criteria of the program are issued LAAs during periodic EOI draws.

All invited MPNP candidates have 60 days to submit a complete application for a provincial nomination through their online MPNP account.

Candidates whose application for a provincial nomination is approved will be able to submit an application for Canadian permanent residence to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.
