Agriculture and Construction Workers Can Transition to Permanent Residence Through New Ontario Immigration Stream

Certain workers in the agriculture and construction sectors who have work experience in Ontario may be eligible for permanent resident status following the launch of the the Employer Job Offer In-Demand Skills Stream in Ontario.

This stream is the latest addition to the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). Through this program, Ontario welcomes newcomers from around the world who have the ability to settle in the province. Also allows Ontario to nominate individuals for immigration to Canada based on criteria set by the province.

To be eligible to apply for the Ontario In-Demand Skills Stream, applicants must have a job offer from an eligible Ontario employer that meets the following criteria:

The Employer Job Offer In-Demand Skills Stream is a 'base' stream, meaning it is not aligned with the Federal Express Entry immigration system.
