British Columbia invites workers, graduates and entrepreneurs to apply for immigration
The Government of British Columbia issued 177 new invitations to apply for a provincial nomination to skilled workers, graduates, and entrepreneurs looking to immigrate to the province in a draw that took place on June 13.
Invitations were issued to candidates through the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP)'s Skills Immigration, Express Entry and Entrepreneur streams.
For candidates invited under the Express Entry BC: Skilled Worker and Express Entry BC: International Graduate, a successful nomination results in 600 additional points under the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) and an Invitation to Apply (ITA) at a later federal Express Entry draw.
Candidates invited through the Skills Immigration categories will have their applications for permanent residence processed outside the Express Entry system after they receive a nomination from BC.
Individuals interested in immigrating to Canada through the BC PNP must begin the process by creating an online profile with the BC PNP and submitting a complete registration form. Applicants profiles are then assessed and are assigned a score based on education, work experience and other factors.
An indeterminate, full-time job offer from an employer in the province is required in order to become eligible for most BC PNP immigration categories.
The minimum scores for each category involved in this draw were as follows:
Date | Category | Minimum Score Required | Number of ITAs Issued |
---|---|---|---|
June 13, 2018 | EEBC – Skilled Worker | 96 | 177 |
EEBC – International Graduate | 96 | ||
SI - Skilled Worker | 90 | ||
SI – International Graduate | 96 | ||
SI - Entry Level and Semi-Skilled | 65 | ||
Entrepreneur Immigration | 115 |
It is important to note that an invitation to apply for the BC PNP is not the same as the Invitation to Apply, or ITA, issued at the federal level.
