Entrepreneurs focus of Nova Scotia draws

A total of 23 entrepreneur candidates have been issued invitations to apply to the Nova Scotia Nominee Program in draws held March 27.

Of that total, 22 were invited through the Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP)'s Entrepreneur Stream for experienced business owners or senior business managers who want to live in the province.

The other invitation was through the NSNP's International Graduate Entrepreneur Stream.

The Entrepreneur Stream invitations follow previous draws from the stream on February 20 and January 16 that invited a total of 49 entrepreneur candidates to apply for approval by the NSNP. Those issued invitations have 90 calendar days from the issuance of the Invitation to Apply (ITA) letter to submit a complete application.

If approved by the NSNP and then successful in their application for a work permit from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), the entrepreneur must start a new business or buy an existing business and must actively participate in its day-to-day management. After operating the business for a year, the entrepreneur may be nominated by Nova Scotia for permanent resident status.

The first step for anyone interested in either program is to submit an Expression of Interest to the Nova Scotia Nominee Program.
