PEI PNP Express Entry

PEI PNP Express Entry

Candidates who are eligible to enter the Express Entry pool and are interested in living and working in Prince Edward Island may apply to the PEI PNP Express Entry Stream.

There are two pathways to Canadian permanent residence through the PEI Express Entry Category, depending on whether or not a candidate has a job offer in PEI or not.

PEI selects Express Entry candidates with skills matching current identified labour needs for the province. A successful nomination through PEI's Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) greatly improves the likelihood of receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence through the Express Entry system.

PEI’s PNP functions on an Expression of Interest (EOI) system. This means that a candidate is required to have an active profile in PEI’s EOI system.

This page will provide information on the following:

Application process
  1. Assess eligibility for federal economic programs.
  2. Create a profile in PEI’s EOI system.
  3. Successful profiles receive an invitation to apply and have up to 90 days to submit an application to the province.
  4. Prepare and submit an application with all the necessary original documents.
  5. Once a candidate receives a nomination from PEI, a candidate must submit an application for permanent residence to Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada using the Express Entry profile.

Candidates who are interested in applying to the PEI PNP Express Entry category must first submit an EOI form, which is posted on the PEI PNP's website for Express Entry. In order to use this form, candidates must have already created an Express Entry profile with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada and be placed in the pool of candidates.

Since the EOI form is not a formal application to the PEI PNP, there is no submission fee. However, candidates who are invited to apply for provincial nomination and submit an application are required to pay an application fee of $300 CAD.

The PEI PNP does not guarantee that all Express Entry profiles submitted will be reviewed or accepted. Successful candidates will receive a provincial nomination from PEI, resulting in 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System points and an ITA for permanent residence at a subsequent draw from the Express Entry pool.
